Consultant – ATHIS Training Facilitation (Presidente Prudente)

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a qualified consultant to lead the ATHIS (Technical Assistance for Social Housing) training facilitation in Presidente Prudente, Brazil. The consultant will work closely with UN‑Habitat’s operational and technical teams to translate policy objectives into practical training solutions for local authorities and housing professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of the initial premises and identify priority thematic areas for the ATHIS training plan based on capacity needs assessments.
• Design a comprehensive training plan and produce related materials for a multi‑module ATHIS course.
• Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and follow‑up activities with municipal officials and partner institutions.
• Collaborate with the São Paulo Council of Architecture and Urbanism and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Report progress and outcomes to the Head of the Brazil Office and contribute to project monitoring and evaluation.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in urban planning, housing policy, or related fields.
• Experience in designing and delivering capacity‑building training programs, preferably in the public sector.
• Strong understanding of social housing challenges and the UN‑Habitat agenda.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Portuguese proficiency is an advantage.
