Director, Medical Affairs – Americas

About the role

The Director, Medical Affairs – Americas leads the Medical Affairs function for DePuy Synthes across Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the United States, Canada and other LATAM markets. This senior position ensures the safe, compliant, and effective generation and communication of scientific and clinical evidence for orthopedic products.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for Medical Affairs across the Americas region.
• Develop and execute medical strategy that supports product lifecycle and market access.
• Oversee evidence generation activities, including clinical studies, real‑world data, and publications.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal policies in all jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as R&D, regulatory affairs, and commercial to align scientific messaging.
• Represent DePuy Synthes with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a health‑related field (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent).
• Extensive experience in Medical Affairs within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing multi‑country teams.
• Strong understanding of orthopedic products and clinical evidence generation.
