Engenheiro/a de Projetos – Design to Value

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Design to Value Engineer to join the Hub Engineering team in Guarulhos. You will apply the Design to Value methodology to drive cost savings, improve product profitability, and deliver greater value to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Apply Design to Value (DtV) methodology to enhance profitability of existing product lines.
• Conduct reverse‑engineering and benchmarking activities as part of DtV deployment.
• Generate cost‑out ideas individually or in cross‑functional workshops and Kaizen events.
• Develop tools and design concepts that reduce design, manufacturing, and assembly time, improve quality, and optimise material usage.
• Prepare detailed business cases and implementation plans required for project approval.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preference for Electrical).
• Proven track record of delivering cost‑out projects and measurable savings.
• Experience in design and manufacturing of power or distribution transformers.
• Hands‑on experience with 3D CAD tools, preferably Pro‑Engineer or CREO Parametric.
• Yellow or Green Belt certification and experience with Lean manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) methodology.
• Strong command of English for communication in an international environment.
