Remote Transaction Monitoring Analyst (LATAM/APAC timezones)

About the role

As a Transaction Monitoring Investigator you will safeguard the integrity of the Bitfinex platform by identifying, investigating, and mitigating financial‑crime risks across fiat and cryptocurrency transactions. Working within the Compliance team you will analyse alerts, assess unusual account activity and investigate potential money‑laundering, terrorist‑financing, sanctions and fraud risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement transaction‑monitoring algorithms to detect AML, terrorism financing, sanctions and other compliance risks.
• Analyse and investigate alerts from fiat (wire and non‑wire) and crypto (on‑chain and off‑chain) trades, deposits and withdrawals, escalating urgent cases in real time.
• Prepare periodic reports for the Chief Compliance Officer and product managers highlighting ML, TF and sanctions anomalies.
• Adjust risk parameters to keep exposure within the platform’s risk appetite and contribute to process improvements.
• Collaborate with AML investigators, product teams and compliance leadership to ensure timely escalation of high‑risk cases.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance, with solid understanding of AML/KYC/CTF policies, enhanced due diligence and sanctions.
• Basic knowledge of blockchain technology; familiarity with blockchain analytics tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CAMS or CBP are a plus.
• University degree and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Critical thinking, attention to detail and self‑motivation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with blockchain analytics platforms (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Docs.
• Comfortable working with web tools such as Chrome and Open Search.
