Head of Infrastructure – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Head of Infrastructure to own and operate our multi‑cloud Kubernetes platform for a high‑impact healthcare solution. This is a senior individual‑contributor position with no direct reports, focused on building, securing, and scaling the entire infrastructure stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage production‑grade Kubernetes clusters across AWS and GCP.
• Implement and enforce HIPAA, SOC2, and GDPR compliance controls throughout the stack.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Pulumi or Terraform.
• Build robust observability, monitoring, and alerting systems to detect issues before customers are impacted.
• Lead incident response and on‑call rotations, troubleshooting high‑pressure outages.
• Continuously optimize performance, cost, and reliability of the cloud environment.

Required profile

• Director‑level experience as an individual contributor in regulated environments.
• Proven track record with production infrastructure audits and compliance frameworks.
• Deep expertise in running Kubernetes workloads at scale.
• Hands‑on experience with both AWS and GCP, understanding trade‑offs of each.
• Recent, active involvement in building and operating infrastructure, not a purely managerial track.
