Maintenance Area Manager – Reliability Engineering

About the role

Amazon is seeking a motivated, customer‑focused Maintenance Area Manager to lead a team of technicians within the Reliability Maintenance Engineering function. The role focuses on safety, equipment availability, and the execution of preventative maintenance across Amazon’s fulfillment network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and mentor a team of technicians, ensuring safe, standardised and efficient work practices.
• Collaborate with the wider network to leverage technical expertise and develop solutions.
• Assist the Reliability Engineering Manager with safety and statutory compliance programs, including implementation, recording and auditing.
• Implement network standards and drive preventative maintenance to achieve high equipment availability for internal customers.
• Organise and direct training programmes to guarantee sufficient technical coverage for owned shifts.
• Coordinate local projects and support broader Business‑wide initiatives as assigned.
• Work on shift schedules to maintain strong connection with the team and daily operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• Hands‑on experience with automated equipment such as packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
• Proven ability to implement and uphold safety standards.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Windows operating systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience managing and developing teams.
