Accountant – Global Financial Reporting (Sao Paulo)

About the role

We are expanding our Accounting Department and seeking an Accountant to join the Global Financial Reporting, Accounting and Tax team in Sao Paulo. The role will handle accounting, tax and payroll processes for multiple Latin‑America entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and US GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain accounting records for several local entities in accordance with group policies and local GAAP requirements.
• Collaborate with local accounting and tax outsourcing providers to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Take full ownership of the Cash and Bank reconciliation process, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected and matched in NetSuite on a daily/monthly basis.
• Manage end‑to‑end employee‑related accounts, including the reconciliation of accounts receivable from employees, advances, and expense reimbursements.
• Act as the primary user and owner of the Yokoy expense management system, overseeing processing, classification, and integration of employee expenses into the general ledger.
• Reconcile Balance Sheet and P&L accounts in NetSuite regularly, ensuring accuracy and consistency of financial data.
• Record and review accounting transactions, including expense reports, journal entries, deposits, payroll files, revenue recognition, and foreign currency revaluation.
• Act as Financial Controller for smaller international entities, performing control procedures, reconciliations, and month‑end closing in accordance with US GAAP and audit requirements.
• Participate in audit processes, preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls and reporting quality.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in accounting or financial control, preferably in an international company.
• Solid understanding of Brazilian local accounting and tax regulations and strong knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS a plus).
• Proven experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with expense management tools, especially Yokoy.
• Advanced English (B2 or higher) with strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage the full accounting cycle for small entities independently.
