Principal Professional – Financial Controller

About the role

The Principal Professional, Financial Controller will report to the Chief Financial Controller and lead the preparation of the Bank’s financial statements in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applicable regulations. Based at NDB Headquarters in Shanghai, this role ensures robust financial control across the institution’s loan, grant, borrowing, investment, and treasury activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and relevant laws.
• Adapt financial and accounting standards for loans, grants, borrowings, investments, derivatives, capital, payroll, fixed assets, and administrative accounts.
• Manage financial control activities including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and budgeting cycles.
• Prepare and analyse comprehensive balance‑sheet and income‑statement reports, monitor financial status, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Produce quarterly and annual financial performance analyses and investor roadshow presentations.
• Support timely resolution of internal audit findings and drive system implementation and automation initiatives.
• Review external data submissions such as those to rating agencies.
• Develop and tailor financial control initiatives aligned with the Bank’s strategic priorities, focusing on loan product and treasury accounting.
