Assistant Controller / FP&A – Real Estate (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Assistant Controller / FP&A professional to join our fast‑growing real‑estate and lending platform. This remote position supports multiple entities, blends technical accounting with strategic financial planning, and works closely with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes across several legal entities.
• Prepare and review GAAP‑based financial statements, tax‑basis statements, and cash‑flow reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts in AppFolio.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for annual audits and filings.
• Manage AP/AR functions, monthly accruals, and CAM reconciliations.
• Build and maintain dynamic Excel financial models for property performance and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Deliver monthly reporting packages with key financial and operational KPIs.
• Own municipal income and expense filings, including NYC RPIE.
• Design, document and enforce internal controls, accounting policies and SOPs.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented and driven professional with hands‑on accounting experience.
• Comfortable working in a high‑growth, entrepreneurial environment.
• Ability to partner with senior leadership on reporting, forecasting and strategy.
