Customer Credit Risk Management Director

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Customer Credit Risk Management to join its Risk Management team in São Paulo, Brazil. Reporting to the Vice President of Customer Risk Management for the Americas, the role will focus on overseeing credit risk for Mastercard’s customer portfolio, initially concentrating on Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the CRM strategy and roadmap for the assigned portfolio.
• Lead customer credit analysis, underwriting, and risk mitigation recommendations.
• Present underwriting findings and recommendations to senior management for approval.
• Direct a small team of managers and analysts, prioritising tasks and ensuring timely execution.
• Develop risk‑management solutions for new products and engage with regulators across the region.
• Monitor and manage customer risk in line with Mastercard’s policies, procedures and risk appetite.

Required profile

• Director‑level experience in credit risk management within the financial services or payments industry.
• Proven ability to work with senior management, sales and product teams, and external regulators.
• Strong leadership skills to guide a team of managers and analysts.
