Data Engineering Specialist – Build SSOT Solutions

About the role

3M is seeking a Data Engineering Specialist to design and maintain reliable data pipelines and single source of truth architectures that support key business value streams across its Global Business Services Analytics & Insights organization. The role will work with cross‑functional teams worldwide to deliver scalable, high‑performance data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines and transformations for efficiency and scalability.
• Implement quality checks, validations, and controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Perform performance tuning and query optimisation to manage usage costs.
• Enable conversational analytics by integrating AI‑assisted natural language query tools.
• Collaborate with IT and business partners to define and scale SSOT architectures.
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI‑driven automation, to improve pipeline efficiency and reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or related field.
• Proven experience in data engineering or data architecture supporting reporting, automation, and data science.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation and validation.
• Experience with modern data platforms such: Snowflake or Databricks.
• Familiarity with data‑stack orchestration tools like dbt or Airflow.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
