Application Engineer – Drilling & Completion Fluids

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking an Application Engineer specialized in drilling and completion fluids to ensure flawless well construction operations. You will work across the job cycle – from pre‑planning through execution to post‑job analysis – delivering technical excellence for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations and Commercial Coordinators to understand customer objectives.
• Develop technical work programs, risk mitigation strategies, and contingency plans.
• Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and modeling to assess risks and optimise performance.
• Provide technical recommendations and product application expertise to customers and internal teams.
• Support incident investigations, corrective actions, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Prepare bid documents, sales presentations, and service delivery reports.
• Lead post‑job reviews, technical analysis meetings, and share lessons learned.
• Participate in laboratory testing and field trials for new products and technologies.
• Travel to customer locations and drilling sites as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering or a related technical field.
• Active CRQ or CREA registration.
• Advanced English proficiency (speaking, reading, writing).
