Consultant for ATHIS Training Facilitation in São José do Rio Preto

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a consultant to facilitate ATHIS (Assistência Técnica de Habitação de Interesse Social) training in São José do Rio Preto, Brazil. The consultant will work closely with UN‑Habitat’s operational and technical teams to develop and deliver training that bridges policy and practice for social housing.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of the initial premises and identify priority thematic areas for the ATHIS training plan based on capacity‑needs assessments.
• Design a comprehensive training plan and produce related materials for the ATHIS training course.
• Collaborate with the São Paulo Council of Architecture and Urbanism and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Report to the Head of the Brazil Office and provide regular updates on progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and facilitating training programmes, preferably in the housing or urban development sector.
• Familiarity with technical assistance for social housing (ATHIS) and related assessment tools.
• Ability to work onsite in São José do Rio Preto and coordinate with UN‑Habitat and partner organisations.
