Director – Financial Services & Virtual Assets (Brazil)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Director to join the Brazil entity of Coins, a leading crypto brand in the Philippines. The role will provide independent governance, regulatory oversight and risk management for our virtual asset services in Brazil, ensuring compliance with local regulations and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and governance to senior management and the board.
• Participate in board and committee meetings, reviewing operational, compliance, financial and risk matters.
• Maintain effective internal controls, policies and governance frameworks.
• Lead regulatory engagement with Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) and COAF, ensuring alignment with Brazilian expectations.
• Oversee compliance programs related to AML/CFT, KYC/KYT, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and SAR reporting.
• Supervise enterprise risk management covering operational, liquidity, market, cybersecurity and compliance risks.
• Review risk appetite, exposure limits and escalation procedures.
• Ensure operational integrity of payments, OTC, fiat on‑off‑ramp activities, settlements and reconciliations.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in at least one functional area: Compliance & AML/CFT, Risk & Internal Controls, or Operations & Financial Integrity.
• Proven experience in governance, regulatory compliance and risk management within financial services or virtual asset service providers.
• Ability to act independently, avoid conflicts of interest and maintain board‑level reporting lines.
• Strong understanding of Brazilian financial regulations, including BCB and COAF requirements.
