Director, Privacy & Data Protection – Americas

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a senior leader to oversee privacy and data protection across the Americas for its Innovative Medicine sector. The Director will guide strategy, governance, and operational execution to ensure compliance with regional privacy regulations and support responsible data innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and regulatory oversight for privacy and data protection across the Americas.
• Drive adoption of global privacy policies and the Johnson & Johnson Privacy Rulebook.
• Ensure compliance with diverse privacy laws in North, Central, and South America.
• Lead a distributed network of Privacy Stewards in commercial, clinical, and R&D functions.
• Manage a Senior Manager responsible for privacy in the LATAM sub‑region.
• Collaborate with business units such as Commercial, Clinical, R&D, Digital Surgery/Robotics, and connected‑device teams to embed privacy by design.
• Report to the Global Privacy & Data Protection Leader for the IM sector.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in privacy and data protection leadership, preferably within a multinational organization.
• Deep knowledge of privacy regulations across the Americas (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, etc.).
• Proven ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong strategic thinking and governance expertise.
