Electrical Technician – Lab & Field Testing (Rio de Janeiro)

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Technician to join our Rio de Janeiro team, supporting the development of next‑generation geothermal drilling technologies. You will be responsible for hands‑on testing, calibration and maintenance of power‑electronic and electromechanical equipment used in downhole drilling systems, both in the laboratory and in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct functional, performance and calibration tests on power‑electronic and electromechanical hardware to verify compliance with specifications.
• Operate and program test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and bench rigs for characterization, qualification and acceptance testing.
• Diagnose, repair and rework electronic circuits and assemblies, including soldering of wire harnesses, surface‑mount and through‑hole components.
• Support prototype bring‑up, capture test data, flag anomalies and provide feedback to electrical and systems engineers.
• Assemble, disassemble and perform preventative maintenance on power converters, power sources, electric motors and generators.
• Maintain accurate service records, calibration logs and generate clear reports on equipment status.
• Provide on‑site support to field representatives and drilling crews during qualification campaigns and deployments, travelling to field locations as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in laboratory and field testing of power‑electronic or electromechanical equipment.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting skills at board and assembly level.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and field teams in a high‑temperature, high‑load environment.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards.
