Electrical/Electronic Engineer – Wireline & Perforating (Rio de Janeiro)

About the role

Halliburton is seeking an experienced Electrical/Electronic Engineer to join its Technology Center in Rio de Janeiro. The role focuses on wireline and perforating solutions for the oil & gas sector, supporting R&D, design, and field implementation of complex power‑electronics systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve electrical and electronic products, incorporating reliability, health, safety, and environment principles.
• Lead technical analysis, create custom equations, and solve complex system problems using advanced engineering tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Brazil, the US, Singapore, and India.
• Define requirements, review third‑party proposals, and ensure compliance with standards during testing and qualification.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute innovative ideas to Halliburton’s intellectual property portfolio.

Required profile

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of R&D experience in oil & gas, mining, or aerospace industries.
• Proven experience designing complex systems for subsea, well control, and well‑intervention applications.
• Experience working with geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Power electronics design (inverters, generators, transformers, UPS systems, valves).
• Power‑system management (batteries, recharge, power management, passivation, ramp‑up, shut‑down).
• Electrical equipment testing, integration, and qualification.
• Risk assessment, FMEA, and other reliability analysis tools.
• Troubleshooting of power‑electronics hardware and use of laboratory equipment.
