Field Agent

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a Field Agent to support the second phase of its Social Territories Programme in Rio de Janeiro. The position is a six‑month consultancy that will work closely with programme, operations and project teams to help strengthen the municipality’s inter‑sectoral strategy for tackling multidimensional urban poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and outreach families eligible for the programme’s integrated protocol.
• Administer questionnaires and collect data as directed by the Programme Coordination.
• Visit selected households, provide information and guidance, and disseminate programme activities within the community.
• Support the organization and implementation of local events and community meetings.
• Contribute to the production and use of territorial evidence to enhance institutional capacity.

Required profile

• Reports to the Head of the Brazil Office and works under the supervision of the UN‑Habitat Manager.
• Ability to travel locally in Rio de Janeiro and engage with diverse community members.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for community outreach.
