General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Midea Finance Shared Service Center is looking for a motivated General Ledger Accountant to join its Brazil finance team. You will ensure accurate accounting of customer receivables and support timely financial reporting in a fast‑paced shared services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform compliance checks on GL transactions to meet internal controls and external regulations.
• Support month‑end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and reconciliations.
• Review and validate financial postings for correct accounting treatment and timeliness.
• Identify and resolve ERP system anomalies and data inconsistencies (e.g., Oracle, ibos).
• Maintain complete documentation and audit trails for all GL activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during reviews.
• Work closely with Tax, FP&A, IT and other finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate in English with stakeholders about financial issues and system problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–3 years of general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a shared‑service or multinational setting.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of Brazilian accounting and tax rules is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, especially Oracle.
