Head of Finance

About the role

This is a high‑impact, remote‑first leadership position for a finance professional who will build and scale the financial backbone of a fast‑growing, consumer‑focused digital business in Brazil. As the first in‑house finance leader, you will design finance systems, drive strategic planning, and partner directly with executive leadership to influence growth, profitability, and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling, forecasting, scenario analysis, headcount planning and cash‑flow management.
• Own budgeting processes and provide clear visibility into financial trade‑offs, risks and performance drivers.
• Maintain investor‑ready models, reporting structures and board materials for fundraising and strategic discussions.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost controls, and reconciliation of revenue, expenses, cash flow and COGS.
• Strengthen profitability, margin and unit‑economics reporting while ensuring timely, accurate financial statements.
• Establish robust financial controls, audit‑ready processes and reliable month‑end close procedures in line with accounting standards.
• Partner with department heads to align budgets, monitor spend and improve financial decision‑making.
• Develop contingency and scenario planning frameworks (Plan B/Plan C) to support business resilience.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting or operational finance, preferably in high‑growth or startup environments.
• Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting and strategic financial planning.
• Proven experience managing inventory‑heavy or product‑based financial operations.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks or Sage.
• Solid accounting foundation; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• Ability to balance strategic advisory responsibilities with hands‑on financial execution.
