Legal Counsel – Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support across its global logistics operations. You will work closely with business units to ensure legal compliance while enabling commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to business units, supporting decision‑making through analysis, consultation and risk assessment.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex contracts with customers, suppliers and partners, ensuring compliance with internal processes.
• Support business development initiatives by identifying legal solutions that enable commercial opportunities.
• Manage corporate legal matters, including powers of attorney and corporate‑governance documentation.
• Lead and optimise legal‑operations processes, systems and tools to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Participate in local and global legal projects focused on continuous improvement and new‑initiative implementation.
• Manage relationships with external legal service providers and legal‑technology vendors.
• Identify and mitigate legal and financial risks associated with customer and supplier agreements.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in corporate legal, commercial contracts or legal advisory roles.
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Solid knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and corporate‑governance practices.
• Experience managing or supporting legal operations, including legal systems, processes and external vendors.
• Ability to assess and mitigate contractual, legal and financial risks.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align legal guidance to business strategy.
• Experience participating in cross‑functional and international projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
• Law degree required; postgraduate studies in Corporate Law, Compliance or Contracts are a plus.
