Mechanical Engineer – Cooling & Hydraulics

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer specialized in cooling and hydraulic systems to design, size, and deliver solutions for mission‑critical data centre projects. The position is based in Morumbi, São Paulo and requires full on‑site presence.

Key responsibilities

• Design chilled water plants, cooling towers, chillers, CRAHs/CRACs, CDUs, pumps, valves, piping networks and direct liquid cooling solutions.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, thermal load analysis and energy‑efficiency studies (PUE/WUE).
• Prepare P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, isometric drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, civil, architectural and IT teams and participate in BIM coordination meetings.
• Support construction activities, site inspections, hydrostatic testing, FAT/SAT, shop‑drawing reviews and commissioning.
• Validate design packages, approve calculations, identify technical risks and issue required technical documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Active CREA registration (mandatory for practice in Brazil).
• Experience with cooling and hydraulic systems for hyperscale data centres.
• Familiarity with ABNT/NBR, ASHRAE and ISO standards.

Required skills

• Chillers, Cooling Towers, CRAHs/CRACs, CDUs, Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC).
• Chilled Water (CHW) systems, heat‑rejection equipment, pump sizing and hydraulic networks.
• Control & Protection Valves, expansion vessels, pressurisation systems.
• AutoCAD, Revit, Pipe Flow Expert, TRACE 700, HAP (or equivalent simulation software).
• Knowledge of ABNT/NBR, ASHRAE and ISO standards.
