Metering Engineer

About the role

The Metering Engineer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance of metering systems across operated assets. This role safeguards hydrocarbon allocation, maintains the health of metering equipment, and supports the asset’s License to Operate.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily Proactive Technical Monitoring (PTM) for metering systems and provide coverage in Daily Production meetings.
• Identify deviations, assess threats, and recommend corrective actions to improve reconciliation factors.
• Ensure full compliance with Brazilian metering regulations, lead audits, and submit required regulatory documentation.
• Maintain and update the Shell Metering Management Systems, oversee calibrations, and manage preventive and corrective maintenance for topside and subsea metering.
• Lead MPFM configuration updates, troubleshoot issues, and provide engineering support to operations and reporting teams.
• Act as contract holder for metering‑related contracts, collaborate with vendors, and enhance system reliability.
• Provide metering expertise to other projects, support allocation philosophies, and advise on certification and regulatory matters.

Required profile

• Legal authorization to work in Brazil on a full‑time basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in operations, preferably in metering, production systems, or subsurface/surface engineering.
• Active CREA certification.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Metering system monitoring and surveillance.
• Multiphase flowmeter (MPFM) operation and configuration.
• Calibration procedures for metering equipment.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of topside and subsea meters.
• Troubleshooting of metering hardware and software.
