O&M Technician

About the role

The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of wind turbine generators (WTGs). Working on‑site, you will support both scheduled and corrective maintenance activities while collaborating closely with the local O&M team and headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Perform operation and maintenance tasks on WTGs following established procedures.
• Execute scheduled and corrective maintenance, including fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, component replacement, and basic technical upgrades.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep turbines and related equipment in optimal condition.
• Monitor turbine performance via SCADA systems and promptly report any abnormalities to the O&M supervisor.
• Assist in troubleshooting common WTG and SCADA issues to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and technical documentation.
• Support communication between the site O&M team and corporate offices when required.

Required profile

• College degree or higher, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Holder of a GWO certificate or equivalent qualification recognized locally.
• Fluent Portuguese for daily communication in Brazil; basic English for interaction with international teams.
• Previous experience in wind turbine O&M is preferred.

Required skills

• Familiarity with wind turbine generator (WTG) systems.
• Proficiency in using SCADA systems for monitoring and fault detection.
• Ability to perform fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on turbine equipment.
• Experience with component replacement and basic technical upgrades.
• GWO certification (or equivalent).
