Project Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a leading international sports marketing firm, is seeking a Project Financial Controller to support high‑profile projects linked to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. The role works closely with project leadership to ensure robust financial control, accurate budgeting, profitability analysis, and compliance with Brazilian legal and tax requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and control client budgets, produce detailed variance analysis and report budget status for internal and group reporting.
• Monitor financial performance and profitability of individual project elements, delivering sensitivity and scenario analyses for senior leadership.
• Provide commercial finance support to Project Managers and Directors, interpreting contract terms and overseeing invoicing and cash collection.
• Manage cash controls, working capital, and weekly cash‑flow forecasts; act as liaison with local banks.
• Ensure adherence to group financial policies and Brazilian tax regulations, coordinating with local advisors on legal and regulatory matters.
• Liaise with international shared service centres, support cost coding, allocation, supplier onboarding, and payroll execution.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Fluent in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
• Proven experience in project accounting or project‑led environments with strong commercial acumen.
• Solid knowledge of Brazilian tax rules, legal requirements and multi‑currency operations.
