About the role

Mastercard Brazil is looking for a qualified Regulatory Counsel to guide product launches, rule changes, and regulatory authorizations under the new Central Bank framework. The role provides end‑to‑end regulatory support and helps manage Mastercard’s relationship with the Central Bank of Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Support regulatory assessments and authorization processes for new products, business models, rule changes, and operational initiatives.
• Execute formal approval processes, including legal analysis, impact‑assessment coordination, documentation, and timeline management.
• Review products and business models to ensure compliance is addressed from inception.
• Provide end‑to‑end regulatory support across product and operational initiatives.
• Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure complete, consistent, and timely execution.
• Support engagement with the Central Bank, including meetings, communications, responses, and follow‑ups.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical business guidance.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in financial regulation, payments, banking, fintech, or another regulated sector.
• Experience with product reviews, regulatory approvals, rule changes, or cross‑functional implementation projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Brazilian regulatory environment and Central Bank interaction.
• Sound legal judgment combined with a pragmatic business orientation.
• Strong writing, coordination, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
