Regulatory Counsel – Brazil

About the role

Mastercard Brazil is looking for a qualified Regulatory Counsel to guide product launches, rule changes, and regulatory authorizations under the new Central Bank of Brazil framework. The role will provide end‑to‑end regulatory support and help manage Mastercard’s relationship with the Central Bank.

Key responsibilities

• Support regulatory assessments and authorization processes for new products, business models, rule changes, and operational initiatives.
• Execute formal approval processes, including legal analysis, impact assessment coordination, documentation, and timeline management.
• Review products and business models to ensure compliance is addressed from inception.
• Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure complete, consistent, and timely execution.
• Engage with the Central Bank through meetings, communications, responses, and follow‑ups.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical business guidance.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in financial regulation, payments, banking, fintech, or another regulated sector.
• Experience with product reviews, regulatory approvals, rule changes, or cross‑functional implementation projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Brazilian regulatory environment and Central Bank interaction.
• Sound legal judgment combined with a pragmatic business orientation.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
