Senior Counsel – Litigation & Regulatory Enforcement

About the role

BNY is seeking a Senior Specialist, Counsel IV to join its Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement team in São Paulo. The role focuses on managing complex litigation and regulatory matters across Latin America, supporting the bank’s legal strategy and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Handle administrative and regulatory enforcement matters in Latin America, including proceedings before CVM and AMBIMA.
• Manage civil litigation and support tax‑related issues, covering both administrative and judicial tax disputes.
• Maintain and support relationships with outside counsel.
• Develop and execute the company’s litigation and regulatory enforcement strategy in coordination with external counsel, tracking risks, deadlines, exposure, budgets, and reporting.

Required profile

• Law degree with OAB registration.
• Experience in litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings, either at a law firm or a financial institution.
• Background in regulatory enforcement matters related to banking.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
• Experience with financial services/product lawsuits and administrative proceedings is a plus.
