Senior Safety Engineer – Fire & EHS Lead

About the role

The Senior Safety Engineer will lead the fire safety team and the Enterprise Risk Prevention (ERP) plan, ensuring the site’s fire protection systems meet Colgate standards and Brazilian regulations. This position plays a critical role in supporting the broader EHS program and driving compliance across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee adherence to the Loss Prevention program in line with Colgate standards and Brazilian law.
• Lead the Process Safety Management (PSM) program together with the PSM Operational Coordinator.
• Oversee compliance with Brazilian regulations (NR‑01, NR‑05, NR‑10, NR‑12, NR‑13, NR‑33, NR‑35) and social security legislation (e‑social safety information).
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and mitigate critical risks, managing action‑plan follow‑up.
• Support audit closure, track findings, and drive related EHS actions.
• Maintain Foundational Safety Expectations (FSEs) for all personnel.
• Prepare data‑analytics dashboards and reports on EHS activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Brazilian fire‑system regulations, NFPA or UL standards, and relevant NR regulations.
• Extensive experience in a manufacturing operations environment.
• Excellent written and presentation skills in English.

Required skills

• Fire‑system regulatory knowledge (Brazilian law, NFPA, UL).
• Familiarity with NR‑01, NR‑05, NR‑10, NR‑12, NR‑13, NR‑33, NR‑35.
• Process Safety Management (PSM) expertise.
• Proficiency with SAP.
• Experience using Gensuite.
• Data‑analytics and dashboard reporting capabilities.
