Senior Software Engineer, Go

About the role

Stone & Company is hiring a full-time, remote Senior Software Engineer specializing in Go. You will develop and improve Go APIs and workers for the authentication gateway and financial request-routing infrastructure, working on authentication and authorization flows and maintaining API Gateway plugins.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Go APIs and workers for the authentication gateway and financial request-routing infrastructure
• Work on authentication and authorization flows using OAuth2, JWT, certificates, identity providers and SK
• Maintain and enhance API Gateway plugins, ensuring end-to-end resilience and observability
• Ensure high availability, performance and low latency in high-traffic edge services
• Participate in Kubernetes deployments, observability initiatives and incident response
• Document implemented changes and build and maintain production systems focused on performance, scalability, security, availability, reliability and resilience
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews and technical mentoring

Required profile

• 5+ years of production experience with Go, focusing on mission-critical services
• Strong security mindset, including secrets management, cryptography and hardening of exposed APIs
• Ability to identify gaps in architecture and development processes and propose solutions
• Experience implementing automated tests and applying CI/CD best practices
• Ability to collaborate on architecture decisions, code reviews and technical mentoring

Required skills

• Go and Kubernetes, with deployment of containerized applications
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB)
• Distributed caching (Redis)
• Authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, certificate management)
• API Gateway architecture; Kong experience is a plus
• Public cloud (AWS ECS, EKS, RDS, ElastiCache) and GitOps with Argo CD are a plus
