Senior Tax Specialist

About the role

Rapyd is seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to lead the accurate preparation and review of monthly and annual tax returns, with a focus on Brazil’s tax framework. You will work closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure full compliance with local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate documentation and returns prepared by external tax advisors, including withholding taxes, turnover taxes, VAT, and other indirect taxes in Brazil.
• Participate in tax audits and inquiries, coordinating with local tax authorities and external auditors to provide timely and accurate responses.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on complex tax matters.
• Assist in the reconciliation of tax‑related accounts, ensuring all liabilities and credits are accurately recorded.
• Monitor and review new tax laws and regulations in Brazil, ensuring the business adapts to fiscal changes.
• Prepare documentation for transfer pricing reporting and compliance, aligning with local and international tax rules.
• Prepare materials for yearly tax filings and support the tax audit process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public accounting.
• 5+ years of experience as a tax consultant, preferably with a Big 4 firm or a multinational company.
• Strong understanding of Brazilian tax regulations, including income tax, CM05, and transfer pricing.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Experience in the FinTech or payments industry is desirable.
