Software Engineer – Power Electronics & Automotive

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to act as the technical liaison with our automotive customers. You will support software development, implementation and integration for multiple power‑electronics products, working closely with program management, global product teams and R&D.

Key responsibilities

• Lead communication between the customer and internal groups, ensuring clear exchange of requirements, engineering data and delivery status.
• Define software deliverables for each release, produce usage guides and release documentation.
• Provide on‑site support at customer locations for component integration, vehicle testing, flashing, troubleshooting and debugging.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving for field issues throughout program launch.
• Collaborate with customer software teams on architecture, strategy, integration and implementation.
• Review engineering documents with the customer and address technical questions.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Previous experience as a Software Engineer in the automotive sector, preferably with OEM or Tier‑1 exposure.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded software flashing processes, including bootloader usage.
• Experience with hardware testing and measurement tools.
• Understanding of diagnostics protocols such as UDS, OBD and XCP.
• Familiarity with communication protocols CAN, CAN‑FD and LIN.
• Proficiency in requirement management, traceability and configuration management.
• Knowledge of ASPICE standards (optional).
• Awareness of cyber‑security concepts and HSM configuration (optional).
• Knowledge of functional safety standards ISO 26262 (optional).
• Hands‑on debugging experience with tools such as Lauterbach, UDE or I‑system (optional).
