Software Engineer – Python (Advanced)

About the role

We are seeking an advanced Python engineer to shape AI‑driven systems that serve millions of users. In this fully remote, flexible contract position you will tackle real‑world engineering and data challenges, delivering production‑quality code that sets the standard for software excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise advanced Python code for production‑level systems.
• Analyse and manipulate structured datasets to support engineering and modelling workflows.
• Write and optimise SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Review, debug, and improve existing codebases for performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Translate ambiguous, high‑level requirements into concrete technical solutions.
• Evaluate trade‑offs and recommend best‑fit approaches with a consulting‑style mindset.
• Document assumptions, decisions and implementation details clearly.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Advanced Python proficiency, including clean architecture, performance optimisation and debugging.
• Strong data‑analysis experience with complex, real‑world datasets.
• Solid SQL skills, including complex queries, transformations and data validation.
• Prior consulting or client‑facing experience, capable of solving open‑ended problems independently.
• Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
