Tax Director

About the role

The Tax Director will lead the definition and execution of Coty’s tax strategy for Brazil, translating global direction into practical, compliant approaches that create value for the business. This senior position partners with senior leadership to provide clear tax positioning, manage risk, and optimise cash‑flow, P&L and balance‑sheet impacts.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and implement the global tax strategy in Brazil, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while addressing local legal, fiscal and operational complexities.
• Provide senior leadership with scenario analysis, executive‑level recommendations and clear tax positioning on high‑impact decisions.
• Ensure end‑to‑end tax compliance with Brazilian regulations and relevant international requirements.
• Lead complex, high‑value tax controversies and litigation, coordinating with external advisors, tax authorities and legal teams.
• Own material litigation exposure, including the Protege case (potential $73 M liability) and PIS/COFINS business segregation litigation (estimated $318 M exposure).
• Manage risk provisioning, disclosures and alignment with accounting and governance standards.
• Act as executive sponsor for Brazilian Tax Reform, assessing impacts on business models, pricing, supply chain, legal entity design, systems and controls.
• Coordinate cross‑functional execution of tax reform initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Brazilian tax law and corporate tax compliance.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale tax controversies and litigation.
• Strong advisory skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on risk management and value creation.
