Accountant – Local Finance Team (Itaguaí, Brazil)

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to join the local finance team of an international Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) company in Itaguaí, Brazil. The role focuses on the accounting activities of the local branch, ensuring accurate records, statutory compliance, and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage vouchers, bank and ledger reconciliations
• Handle daily banking operations
• Oversee statutory accounting and local tax matters
• Process vendor invoices and payments
• Prepare management reports (MIS) on income, expenses and profitability
• Enter accounting data in SAP
• Support monthly sales closing and produce financial reports for Corporate Finance and branch management
• Issue invoices and accompanying documentation to clients
• Maintain documentation for internal and external audits
• Assist cost‑control initiatives and suggest improvements
• Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and company policies
• Perform additional finance‑related tasks as assigned by management

Required profile

• Previous experience in accounting or finance
• Good knowledge of local accounting regulations and statutory requirements
• Experience with taxation and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with international teams
• Proficient written and spoken English
