Accountant – Month-End Close & Tax Specialist

About the role

Jeeves is seeking a motivated Accountant to join its Finance team in São Paulo. You will own the month‑end close process and manage Brazil‑specific tax compliance, working closely with internal stakeholders and external tax consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full month‑end close cycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Automate and improve accounting processes in partnership with the accounting team.
• Prepare and file monthly tax filings, income tax, payroll taxes, and the annual tax return on schedule.
• Collaborate with product, sales, and customer‑success teams on client requests and product enhancements.
• Conduct technical accounting research and document new policies and procedures.
• Support the accounts payable function, verifying invoice compliance with tax requirements.
• Assist in designing internal controls and policies.
• Contribute to special projects, ad‑hoc reporting, and other finance initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting or finance roles within a financial institution, startup, or fintech.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and tax filing processes.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across product, sales, and customer‑success teams.
