About the role

Jeeves is seeking a motivated Accountant to help build and improve its accounting organization in Brazil. The role will focus on month‑end close activities and managing the company’s tax obligations, working closely with external tax consultants and reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close process from start to finish, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to automate and enhance accounting workflows.
• Manage monthly tax filings, income tax, payroll taxes, and the annual tax return, ensuring timely compliance.
• Work with product, sales, and customer‑success teams on client requests and feature development.
• Assist with technical accounting research and document new policies and procedures.
• Support accounts payable, verify invoice compliance with tax requirements, and ensure correct booking.
• Help design internal controls and policies, and contribute to special projects and ad‑hoc reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting or at a financial institution, startup, or fintech.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and tax filing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑growing environment.
