AI Native Software Engineer – Core Java Backend

About the role

We are a global technology consultancy with an AI‑first approach (Gen‑e2™) that helps enterprises build digital products and transform with AI. As an AI Native Software Engineer you will design, develop and optimise robust, scalable, secure backend solutions using core Java within micro‑service architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications in Java (Java 8+) ensuring high availability and performance.
• Build and document RESTful APIs with versioning, authentication and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Develop microservices using Spring Boot and/or Jakarta EE.
• Integrate relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL stores (MongoDB, Redis).
• Implement data access with Hibernate or JPA and write unit and API tests (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, Postman/Newman).
• Apply SOLID principles, design patterns and OWASP security best practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and participate in agile Scrum teams.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, profile applications and optimise production environments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience developing backend applications in Java.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with Spring Boot and/or Jakarta EE frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Deep understanding of ORMs such as Hibernate or JPA.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced Git skills and ability to work in Scrum agile methodology.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) for global collaboration.
