Android Developer – Video Playback (Remote, Brazil)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to design and deliver high‑performance video playback solutions for Android Mobile and Android TV. The role is fully remote and focuses on building scalable streaming applications using Kotlin and modern Android architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications and SDK components for mobile and Android TV platforms.
• Implement and optimise video playback features using ExoPlayer or MediaPlayer to ensure smooth, high‑quality streaming.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define new features, integrate streaming protocols (HLS, MPEG‑DASH) and DRM (Widevine).
• Troubleshoot media‑related issues such as buffering, playback errors and DRM failures.
• Write clean, well‑tested Kotlin code and participate in code reviews, unit and integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Document technical decisions and contribute to design discussions.
• Provide on‑call support for production incidents and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of native Android development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Kotlin and Android SDK.
• Jetpack libraries, especially Jetpack Compose.
• Architectural patterns: MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture.
• CI/CD tools, JUnit, Espresso and automated testing frameworks.
• Video playback technologies: ExoPlayer or MediaPlayer.
• Streaming protocols: HLS, MPEG‑DASH.
• Widevine DRM integration.
• Android TV development.
