Assistant Controller

About the role

The Assistant Controller provides financial and accounting leadership by overseeing month‑end close, balance‑sheet integrity, inventory and general accounting operations, and internal controls. Reporting to the Controller, this position partners with FP&A, Technical Accounting, Supply Chain and Global Business Services to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the month‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery across entities.
• Partner with Global Business Services to support close activities for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
• Analyze close results, review revenues, direct costs and operating expenses, and perform variance analysis.
• Maintain high‑quality balance‑sheet reconciliations, conduct variance analysis and risk assessments.
• Supervise senior managers, provide coaching, and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Oversee inventory accounting, reconcile balances to subledgers, and collaborate with Supply Chain on inventory controls.
• Ensure alignment with Technical Accounting, provide roll‑forward commentary, and guide complex transaction accounting.
• Manage intercompany transaction recording and reconciliation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading month‑end close and balance‑sheet oversight.
• Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and accounting standards.
• Leadership ability to supervise and develop accounting teams.
• Collaborative mindset to work cross‑functionally with FP&A, Supply Chain and Technical Accounting.
