Assistant Global Controller

About the role

Leica Microsystems is seeking an Assistant Global Controller to strengthen its worldwide financial compliance and controlling framework. Reporting to the Global Controller, you will work on the full compliance lifecycle, from planning and risk assessment to issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial compliance and internal control topics, including SOX.
• Monitor monthly closing of group results, financial reporting and analysis.
• Support digital transformation and finance automation initiatives (e.g., smart robots, AI routines).
• Act as primary contact for internal and external audits and manage the balance‑sheet review program.
• Partner with finance leaders and regional controllers globally to provide accounting insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as Certified Tax Advisor, CPA, or CIA preferred.
• Strong progressive accounting, controllership or audit experience, preferably in a multinational environment or Big‑Four firm.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP, statutory regulations and Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
