Backend Software Engineer – PL (Brazil)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer (PL) to join a fast‑growing digital health company in Brazil. You will design, build, and maintain highly scalable, data‑intensive backend services that support millions of users across the healthcare ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, evolve, and maintain Java‑based backend services with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, micro‑services, and system integrations for complex distributed architectures.
• Participate in architectural discussions, contributing to resilient system designs.
• Write clean, testable code and create automated unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with product, QA, data, and frontend teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise application performance, addressing bottlenecks.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote engineering best practices.
• Document technical designs, system flows, and engineering practices.

Required profile

• Solid experience developing backend services in Java within production environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with clear communication for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in agile product teams and collaborating across functions.
