Bid & Project Manager – GCS

About the role

Thales is seeking a Bid & Project Manager for its GCS unit in São Bernardo do Campo. In this hybrid position you will lead bid‑management activities for the Coastal Surveillance System (CSS) and CUAV projects, ensuring a smooth transition from proposal to execution while maintaining governance, risk control and stakeholder alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of bid proposals, incorporating stakeholder inputs, validating costs and defining delivery milestones.
• Develop the initial project baseline, solution direction and launch plan aligned with business strategy.
• Manage risks and opportunities throughout the bid phase and ensure a structured hand‑over to the project team.
• Initiate project execution by identifying key stakeholders, building the project team and establishing work breakdown structures (WBS, OBS) and schedules.
• Oversee financial aspects, including make‑or‑buy decisions, supplier negotiations, contract management and budget allocation.
• Drive project launch reviews, monitor progress against milestones, and ensure quality, legal and contractual compliance.
• Produce regular project reporting, conduct phase‑review meetings and manage project closure activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bid management and project management within complex technical environments.
• Strong understanding of defense or aerospace systems and related procurement processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model, balancing on‑site collaboration with remote tasks.
