Brazil Energy Site Engineer

About the role

RINA is seeking a Brazil Energy Site Engineer to work from its Rio de Janeiro office within the Plant Engineering Division. The role focuses on assessing the structural integrity of subsea risers and flexible pipelines, delivering technical analyses that meet Petrobras specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform finite‑element based numerical modelling to evaluate the structural integrity of subsea risers.
• Prepare technical reports on top‑tension, structural and fatigue analyses of flexible pipes in accordance with Petrobras standards.
• Participate in technical meetings, offering recommendations and solutions grounded in applicable technical standards.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with an active CREA licence.
• Proven experience on subsea projects involving pipelines.
• Advanced English proficiency for weekly English‑language meetings.

Required skills

• Finite element method modelling.
• OrcaFlex software for dynamic analysis of flexible pipes.
• Dynamic analysis of flexible pipelines.
• Python programming (desirable).
• Knowledge of subsea installation feasibility methods such as direct vertical connection, diverless tools, and direct horizontal connection (desirable).
• Experience with mooring and hydrodynamic analysis (desirable).
