Business Development Manager – Sales (Travel Industry)

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Sales will lead the acquisition and growth of outbound travel packages for a leading travel company in Rio de Janeiro. Reporting to senior management, the role focuses on expanding relationships with travel agents, hotels and destination partners while driving revenue through targeted sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new outbound travel business and manage existing accounts.
• Develop and execute sales strategies for destination packages, tours and hotel contracts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local travel trade, destinations and market trends.
• Negotiate rates and terms with agents, hotels and service providers.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and sales reports using MS Office tools.
• Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure seamless product delivery.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years of experience in the travel industry, preferably in outbound sales.
• Proven business development and account management background.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese, with strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with local travel trade, agents and hotel networks.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to start within 30 days.
• IATA certification is a plus.
