Buyer – Stamping Metal Parts (South America)

About the role

Join the Volvo Group TTI Purchasing team in Curitiba as a Buyer focused on stamping metal parts for the South America region. You will work closely with global and local colleagues to secure high‑performing suppliers, drive cost efficiencies, and support the Group’s ambition to become 100% fossil‑free, safe, and productive.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with commodity and project buyers to achieve optimal quality, delivery, cost and feature outcomes.
• Lead sourcing activities during project phases, including preparing and issuing RFIs/RFQs and negotiating lead‑times.
• Conduct cost workshops, implement cost‑reduction initiatives and negotiate technical and commercial terms.
• Execute supplier agreements, optimise the supply chain and monitor risk, including crisis management.
• Handle daily purchasing tasks related to production orders, logistics and financial flows to suppliers.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Proven experience in purchasing, negotiation and supplier/customer relationship management.
• Strong communication, follow‑up discipline and business acumen.
• Motivated by change, proactive, organized and target‑oriented.
• Team player with leadership capability and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Experience in manufacturing; multicultural exposure is a plus, automotive background advantageous.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
