Community Engineer (multiple roles & seniority levels)

About the role

We are seeking passionate Community Engineers to help shape and scale global open‑source communities behind widely used Linux‑based technologies. The role is fully remote and based in Brazil, offering the chance to bridge developers, contributors, and engineering teams while aligning community initiatives with technical roadmaps.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and scale programs that boost engagement across open‑source ecosystems.
• Act as liaison between contributors and internal product, engineering, and developer‑relations teams.
• Improve contribution workflows, reduce friction, and enable successful delivery of technical projects.
• Create high‑quality written content such as blog posts, updates, and documentation.
• Engage with communities on forums, chat platforms, social channels, and events.
• Represent the organization at conferences, meet‑ups, and industry events.
• Identify and drive improvements to community tooling, processes, and contributor experience.

Required profile

• Strong passion for open‑source software, Linux ecosystems, and collaborative development.
• Demonstrated public track record of community engagement (e.g., GitHub contributions, talks, blog posts).
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation abilities for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and program‑management skills to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
