Corporate Counsel – Mexico (Legal Generalist)

About the role

This position is an in‑house legal generalist supporting one of the United States' largest insurers. The focus is on Mexican corporate, labor and employment matters, with the potential to expand across LATAM. You will work closely with HR and U.S. legal teams to provide guidance on workforce issues, investigations and regulatory interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on Mexican corporate, labor and employment law, including employee relations, social security, taxes and subcontracting.
• Support interactions with Mexican regulators, labor authorities and other agencies; assist with inspections, audits and administrative proceedings.
• Collaborate with U.S. and global legal teams on cross‑border policies, risk mitigation and investigations.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks in Mexico and contribute to training for business and HR partners.
• Conduct and manage complex workplace investigations.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney in employment, labor, corporate or related fields.
• Experience as in‑house counsel or advising multinational corporate clients.
• Proven ability to advise senior business leaders and HR professionals on employment law.
• Active license to practice law in Mexico and fluency in English and Spanish.
• Experience navigating highly regulated industries such as insurance, financial services or banking.

Required skills

• Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
