Data Scientist – AI/ML Solutions (São Paulo)

About the role

Zurich Insurance Company’s ZCAM team is looking for a talented Data Scientist to design, build and maintain AI/ML‑powered solutions that run in production and support data‑driven decisions across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI/ML features, AI agents, LLM‑based solutions and analytics services in production environments.
• Build and maintain data and AI pipelines, integrating tools such as OCR, LLM services, databases and dashboards.
• Source, collect and analyse new data sources to support AI/ML solutions and ad‑hoc business questions.
• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate AI/ML components following engineering best practices.
• Translate complex technical concepts into actionable, user‑friendly solutions for business stakeholders.
• Research, prototype and implement emerging AI/ML technologies, especially generative AI and modern data engineering tools.
• Contribute to data and AI roadmaps and architectural decisions to ensure scalable, secure, maintainable solutions.

Required profile

• University degree in physics, mathematics, computer science or a related field.
• Professional experience in a data‑science or AI role with demonstrated competency.
• Strong proficiency in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus.
• Experience in financial institutions, consulting or similar industries is a plus.

Required skills

• Python programming, including building production systems and integrating APIs.
• Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), prompt engineering and response optimisation.
• Unstructured data processing techniques such as OCR, LLM‑based extraction and regular expressions.
• Machine‑learning tools in big‑data environments and deployment of models as services.
• SQL/NoSQL databases and data modelling for production systems.
• Dashboard and data‑visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Streamlit).
