Design Engineer – Product Development (NX)

About the role

General Motors is looking for a Design Engineer to join the Product Development team in São Caetano do Sul. You will create virtual models, perform analyses, and support the integration of components and subsystems for vehicle projects.

Key responsibilities

• Create mathematical data and virtual layouts of components, systems and subsystems using NX or Catia.
• Apply design operations such as standard modeling, clearance analysis, vehicle assembly structure and global data security.
• Implement design standards, best practices and INFOBOOK standards throughout the development process.
• Develop, refine and finalize criteria and typical sections for parts and assemblies.
• Ensure manufacturability, design‑for‑assembly and integration knowledge are applied to stamped (BIW) and injected parts.
• Perform NX analysis, interpret results and support CAE studies to improve designs.
• Lead or participate in virtual design reviews and document material, mass and specification data.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to integrate components into complete vehicle systems.
• Communicate project status, timing and technical issues to design managers and leaders.

Required profile

• Completed engineering degree.
• Experience with NX or Catia software.
• Background in modeling stamped (BIW) and/or injection‑molded parts.
• Intermediate level English.
• Active CREA registration.
